One of the best things about camping is campsite food. From simple pleasures like s'mores and hot dogs, to more elaborate curries and stir-fries – cooking outdoors doesn’t need to be boring.

Introducing the KitchenBox

That’s why we developed the KitchenBox – a complete, hassle-free kitchen built into a compact box. It’s easy to carry and streamlined to fit in your car boot, setting up in seconds with everything you need to cook and enjoy delicious meals.

Including a powerful stove, cutlery and cooking utensils, as well as two chairs – the box itself opens up into a table and it works with any typical 'screw-on' gas canister.

One-pan cooking

In order to keep the KitchenBox a convenient size, we developed it with one powerful stove. The best way to get the most out of the kit is by embracing one-pan recipes. With a little creativity, one-pan cooking can be a really simple and effective way to enjoy campsite cooking.

If you’re looking for some boujee breakfast inspiration, we cooked up a healthy and delicious shakshuka at a recent Takeover event. Check out the recipe below.

 Shakshuka recipe | Serves 2

Ingredients

  • 1 red onion, chopped
  • 6 fresh tomatoes, chopped (or 1 tin of chopped tomatoes)
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 red chillies, sliced
  • Handful of feta, crumbled
  • Handful of coriander, chopped
  • Salt & pepper to taste
  • Splash of cooking oil
  • Sourdough bread
  • Avocado

Method

  1. Add a splash of cooking oil to the pan over a medium heat. Add the onions and tomatoes, and cook down for 10-15 minutes.
  2. Create small wells in the tomato mixture and crack in your 2 eggs. Season with salt & pepper, then cover with the lid and leave to cook for 5 minutes, or until the whites are cooked through.
  3. Remove the lid, crumble over the feta, sliced chillies and coriander.
  4. Serve hot, with fresh sourdough bread and avocado on the side.
