Travels With The TentBox Classic: Customer Stories
We recently caught up with TentBox customer, Graeme, to find out how he is getting on with his TentBox Classic.
The TentBox Classic roof tent is our most popular model and the new and improved version of our bestselling TentBox Hard Shell. It pops open in just one minute, making it super user friendly. As with all of our roof top tents, there’s space for two, and the mattress and ladder are included.
What made you choose the TentBox?
I have the TentBox Classic on a Ford Edge, which is a two row SUV perfect for taking on adventures. We love going away so it was a perfect choice.
We’ve recently just done a 2 week trip to the Western Isles with a mixture of weather. The Tentbox Classic performed brilliantly in some very windy and wet conditions.
We stayed on a few sites, only to power up our Jackery power source for the fridge and wild camped the rest. By the end of the trip we got it figured out and could have wild camped more nights instead of sites.
This has been our second trip since getting the Classic and had a couple of game changers with us this time like an Alphacool cool box and a Thetford porta potti.
Who goes in the TentBox with you?
I travel with my wife and our Newfoundland dog, and no the dog does not sleep in the TentBox! The dog sleeps in the car no problem overnight.
What’s your favourite memory travelling with the TentBox?
Our trip to the Western Isles in September was amazing. We sailed from Ullapool to Stornoway then drove up to the Point of Ness and stayed at a fantastic site for a couple of nights (15 Uncles Croft) the weather was mixed and the wind was a real tester.
We travelled down through Lewis and Harris then sailed down to Berneray which was really nice and had a fantastic spot overlooking the beach. We drove over the causeway to North Uist, Benbecula and South Uist and over the causeway to Eriskay.
Another ferry to Barra with a tour around for a couple of days involving a beautiful day driving over another causeway to Vatersay. We had the opportunity to see a plane land and take off from Barra Airport, very interesting indeed.
The following day we sailed back from Barra to Oban. A truly memorable trip and the Tentbox Classic was fantastic.
